The Technology Behind Modern Air Ride Scales

Explore the technology behind modern air ride scales: RF air bag sensors, axle group algorithms, live app data and cloud reporting, all in the AirRide Scale onboard weighing system.

The first air bag gauges simply showed pressure and left the driver to interpret it. Modern air ride scales are a different class of product. AirRide Scale combines durable RF sensors, smart per group algorithms, a live mobile app and cloud reporting into one connected onboard weighing system. Here is what is under the hood.

RF air bag sensors

Accurate, durable sensors install on each air bag and capture load in real time. AirRide uses RF frequency rather than Bluetooth between the sensors and the hub, which delivers stronger range and longer battery life, important on a long truck and trailer combination with up to 16 sensors.

Axle group algorithms

Pressure alone is not weight. Smart algorithms apply your calibration to calculate accurate weight per axle group, so the system reports steer, drive and trailer groups separately for maximum accuracy and real compliance value.

The AirRide Air Link

A single onboard Air Link module gathers every RF sensor and converts the signal to Bluetooth for your phone. One hub manages the whole rig, truck and trailer, which keeps installation simple and the system reliable.

Live smartphone app

The Loadsense app on iOS and Android shows real time weights, legal limit status and alerts, anytime, anywhere. Calibrations are stored on the device, and the look and feel matches the trusted Loadsense Titan PRO scale.

Cloud visibility

The optional Loadsense cloud portal centralises reporting, with fleet overviews, weight trends, alerts and compliance documents. Managers and dispatchers get the same real time data as the driver, from anywhere.

Works on air bag suspension only. AirRide Scale reads load through the air springs, so it fits trucks and trailers running air bag (air) suspension on each axle group you want to weigh. Steel, leaf and mechanical spring axle groups are not supported. If your steer, drive and trailer groups ride on air, you are ready for AirRide Scale.

Technology with a purpose

Wireless RF, accurate real time data, built for the road, compliant and cloud connected. That is the technology that makes modern air ride scales like AirRide a genuine upgrade for air bag fleets in the USA, Canada and Europe.
